Prior to clinical psychology he studied Acting at Temple University and NYU and pursued creative endeavors in music, modeling, and acting for many years. Dr. Han has experience in community mental health, university counseling, university athletics, dual diagnosis inpatient, and UCLA's Aftercare program for first-episode schizophrenia.
He uses a consilient approach, drawing from psychology, neurology, sociology, and philosophy while incorporating experience from his multicultural upbringing and background in the arts. Dr. Han believes in the uniqueness of each individual and that consideration for all aspects and facets of one's life is necessary for a true and deep understanding. It is from a place of curiosity and discovery that client's can begin to reach their treatment goals, which are sometimes connected to external change but often go far beyond behavior modification.
The therapy that Dr. Han specializes in, and that clients come to him for, is one that strives beyond symptom reduction and alleviation of pain towards the facilitation of personal growth and basic character change.
Dr. Han enjoys working with adults, adolescents, and couples. He is passionate about identity development, relational concerns, life changes, performance and creativity, existentialism, mood and anxiety, and trauma.
Dr. Han is a licensed psychologist by the California Board of Psychology (PSY 35959).
